Allison Chase, PhD, CEDS, has been working in the field of eating disorder treatment for over 20 years. Prior to joining Eating Recovery Center, Austin, Dr. Chase was the Principal and Founder of AK Chase & Associates, which she established in Austin in 2003. Dr. Chase’s areas of specialization include child and adolescent mental health issues, the treatment of eating disorders, parental training and education, and family- or team-based therapy.
In addition to serving her patients, Dr. Chase enjoys helping others on a mass scale through presentations and media interviews.
She offers training and ongoing education for other professionals across the U.S., as well as workshops for schools and community organizations. Dr. Chase has also taught undergraduate psychology courses at The University of Texas at Austin since 2001.
Dr. Chase earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of California at San Diego. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at The University of Texas at Austin and completed residency training in Chicago at Rush University Medical Center, in both the departments of psychology and pediatrics. Dr. Chase completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Austin Child Guidance Center as well.
Kara Fowler, LPC, RD, LD, CDE, LMT
Director of Clinical Services
Kara Fowler, LPC, RD, LD, CDE, LMT is a dietitian and psychotherapist with over fifteen years of eating disorder treatment experience in a variety of settings. In addition to her eating disorder specialization, she is skilled in addressing issues related to trauma and dissociation. Kara completed her comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training in 2009, and she utilizes other tools including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), clinical hypnosis and body-centered therapies to help patients find lasting recovery.
Ramona Weatherford, LCSW, CEDS
Regional Managing Director of Operations
Ramona Weatherford holds a master’s Degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University and has over 30 years of clinical experience. In the last 15 years of her career, Ramona has focused on the management and operations side of clinical practices. Prior to joining Eating Recovery Center, Dallas, Ramona spent 14 years managing the eating disorder unit at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. Ramona joined Eating Recovery Center in May 2014 and was instrumental in the opening of Eating Recovery Center, Dallas in July 2014.
