Treatment for Adolescents

Helping your family in a time of need

Many adolescents find themselves in need of mental health treatment before they reach adulthood. This can be difficult for parents and families, but it is important to know that symptoms of mental illness commonly first appear during the teenage years — and effective treatment exists.

At Insight Behavioral Health Centers, our specialized programming is designed for adolescents and young adults with mood, anxiety and trauma-related disorders as well as co-occurring issues like substance abuse, school refusal, and other related issues. Our goal is to educate, engage and support the entire family since family members play an important role in helping patients recover.

Intensive treatment for adolescents

Our multidisciplinary approach includes individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and other therapeutic offerings — all intended to help adolescents move towards a sustainable recovery. We offer mental health treatment for adolescents at several levels of care:

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) - Up to 8 hours of treatment a day, up to 7 days a week
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) - 3 hours of treatment per day, 3 days per week
  • Residential Program (Starting in 2019) - contact us for details

We can also help with outpatient therapy services for those who are ready to step down from PHP and IOP to a lower level of care. Should your child need it, substance abuse treatment is available. Eating disorder treatment is available through our partnership with Eating Recovery Center.

As adolescents move to lower levels of care, the clinical team will help to make the transition as smooth as possible. Following treatment at Insight, aftercare services and alumni support, along with group therapy and family therapy options, are also available.
